The news is I'll be providing artwork for "We Will Bury You", a new series from IDW Publishing. The book will be written by Brea Grant and Zane Austin Grant with covers by Ben Templesmith. I'll post some art a little later. The genre is horror and the setting is 1920s New York. That means flappers.

An illustration of mine has made it's way to the cover of Split Lip: Volume One from Australian publisher Local Act Comics. Local Act has since folded but there are a few copies of the 100+page anthology still available at the Split Lip website (for $20). A reprint of a story I drew (from Sam Costello's script) is among the collected shorts.

And if you like to have my artwork in a book on your shelf, Mage: Seers of the Throne is now available for pre-order from Amazon. The book (from White Wolf) is set to be released February 18, 2009 and includes five black & white illustrations by me (Hey, Matt West. That piece I owe you is one of them).

Ambrosia Publishing has recently announced it will be disbanding its online library and no longer maintaining its current line-up of printed titles. The website may return later (publishing exclusively in a digital format), but Ambrosia and I will be parting ways.
Plans are already underway to re-release Clockwork Creature in print before April 2009 either through a separate imprint or independently. The Ambrosia edition of the book (with twenty pages of sketches - ooh, ahh) is still available on Amazon.com: buy it here.
To appease those interested in reading the story before the winners of the 2008 SPACE Prize are announced, the entire comic will soon be available to read on this site. The original web comic (numbering four pages fewer and missing several tweaks) is still accessible right here:

And here is a collection of blurbs:
"Clockwork Creature simply blew me away."
- Ain't It Cool News
"You are not lost in a fever dream. You have not ingested an intense, heretofore unknown hallucinogen. You are not the victim of a coordinated, worldwide dadaist conspiracy to melt your mind. You have simply opened Kyle Strahm's Clockwork Creature and fell into a story so unique, so accomplished, and so odd that you will never be satisfied by mainstream comics again."
- Phil Hester
"This is how you paint a world I have never seen. This is how you introduce a concept what was never even on my radar, let alone close to my comprehension..."
- Silver Bullet
"Pure visual delight from cover to cover."
- Sequential Heart
"...a weird and wonderful little tale..."
- Dread Central

I've spent te last month or so working on some freelance illustration. I'll post some of the images here when I'm allowed. Now I'll be getting back to work on a couple of my own short stories. Here are some pencils from Karpov's Confession:
